Omar Misdaq, MSt

Graduate Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern

Omar Misdaq is a Graduate Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern at Washington Psychological Wellness. He is currently pursuing his Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Grand View University. Omar was born and raised in the UK and holds an MSt from the University of Oxford and a BA from Goldsmiths, University of London.

Omar’s path to counseling grew out of a diverse professional background. As a Coach, he developed a deep passion for supporting clients through personal growth and transformation. His experience as a User Experience Designer further refined his ability to listen closely, understand individual needs, and create spaces where people feel supported, empowered, and understood.

Omar’s clinical approach is rooted in psychodynamic and depth-oriented therapy, with an emphasis on somatic and body-based modalities. Drawing from Polyvagal Theory, mindfulness, spirituality, and embodiment practices, he works collaboratively with clients to better understand themselves, reconnect with their emotions and bodies, and navigate life with greater authenticity and self-awareness.

Omar enjoys working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and life experiences. He is particularly passionate about supporting men in strengthening emotional insight, deepening self-expression, and building more meaningful connections with themselves and others.

Omar works with clients experiencing anxiety, relationship difficulties, life transitions, emotional disconnection, stress, trauma, and identity-related concerns. He brings a warm, calming, and compassionate presence to the therapeutic relationship, helping clients feel genuinely seen, heard, and supported throughout their healing journey. Omar believes that meaningful change begins within a safe and trusting therapeutic connection.

Outside of his clinical work, Omar is a practitioner of Wu-style Tai Chi, enjoys playing electric bass, and finds renewal through travel, reading, and exploring nature.
