“You deserve a space where you feel seen and heard as we explore what healing and growth mean for you.”

ABOUT Yuri Forgues

Yuri (he/him) offers a warm, welcoming space at Washington Psychological Wellness, rooted in curiosity and respect for each client’s story, culture, and identity. Inspired in part by his own healing journey, he understands the importance of feeling heard and building a trusting relationship.

Yuri approaches therapy collaboratively, helping clients explore their experiences, recognize their strengths, and find greater connection and self-understanding. Outside of work, he enjoys reading, rollerblading, listening to music, taking walks, and spending time with family.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Yuri’s counseling work focuses on helping clients understand patterns, process past experiences, and strengthen their relationships with themselves and others. He has a particular interest in supporting young adults, couples, and families as they navigate emotional challenges and seek meaningful change.

Before entering the counseling field, Yuri worked in technology support and customer-facing roles, where he developed skills in patient communication, active listening, and collaborative problem-solving. His graduate training further strengthened his foundation in culturally responsive counseling, human development, assessment, and treatment planning.

CLINICAL FOCUS

Yuri supports clients navigating grief and loss, relationship concerns, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), identity exploration, anxiety, and depression. His approach is person-centered and integrates trauma-informed care, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and family systems perspectives.

He helps clients explore how earlier experiences and current relationships shape their thoughts, emotions, and responses. Together, Yuri and his clients identify practical coping strategies and clarify what they want moving forward, while honoring their strengths, values, and pace.
