Dr. Varsha Morar, MD

Board-Certified Child, Adolescent & Adult Psychiatrist

“I want you to feel heard, comfortable asking questions, and involved in your care. Together, we’ll explore options that fit your needs and your life.”

ABOUT Varsha Morar

Dr. Varsha Morar is a medical doctor and board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist with more than 20 years of clinical experience. She offers warm, thoughtful care that begins with listening and understanding the person behind the symptoms.

She recognizes that seeking psychiatric care can bring questions and uncertainty. Whether meeting with a child and their family, a teenager, or an adult, she takes time to understand their concerns, explain options, and help them feel comfortable and involved in decisions about care.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Dr. Morar’s background includes medical director roles in outpatient psychiatry and behavioral health, including at the Psychiatric Institute of Washington, D.C. She also served on the faculty of Johns Hopkins University’s Department of Psychiatry and worked as a physician at Kennedy Krieger Institute.

Alongside her psychiatric experience, she brings more than 20 years of experience in yoga, meditation, and mindfulness. This background informs her attention to the connection between emotional well-being, physical health, and everyday habits.

At WPW, she provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and ongoing medication management, collaborating with families, therapists, and other care providers when appropriate.

CLINICAL FOCUS

Dr. Morar supports children, adolescents, and adults navigating ADHD, anxiety, depression, stress, mood concerns, and behavioral challenges. Her personalized approach considers symptoms alongside daily life, relationships, and overall well-being.

She combines evidence-based psychiatric care with integrative strategies, including mindfulness when appropriate. She helps patients understand treatment recommendations and the role medication may play, with ongoing attention to benefits, side effects, and changing needs.

Her goal is to help each patient feel informed, supported, and more able to manage the challenges that brought them to care.
