Taylor Russell, LGPC

Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor

“Creative expression builds a space to gently explore the feelings and thoughts that can be hard to put into words. Together, we will discover ways of exploring and expressing yourself that feel natural, comfortable, and just right for you.”

ABOUT Taylor Russell

Taylor brings more than 15 years of experience as a theatre artist and creative professional to her counseling work. She supports adolescents, adults, and families, helping them explore strengths and challenges at their own pace.

Taylor values both creative expression and evidence-based care. She offers a supportive space where clients can try new ways to communicate, understand themselves, and navigate change. Her theatre background informs her empathy and appreciation for different perspectives.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Taylor facilitated classes for young people and families involved in the juvenile court system, supporting communication, leadership, social-emotional learning, and self-esteem. Her work included anger management and family development, with lessons adapted to participants’ needs.

Her background also includes early childhood education and extensive collaboration in theatre and community arts settings. These experiences shaped her understanding of development, family relationships, and the pressures young people face, while strengthening her ability to connect through creativity.

CLINICAL FOCUS

Taylor supports clients navigating chronic illness, trauma, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. She draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), play therapy, and expressive arts techniques as appropriate, tailoring her approach to each client’s age, interests, and goals.

Creative approaches can offer additional ways to explore emotions and experiences that are difficult to put into words. Alongside reflection and practical coping strategies, Taylor helps clients build resilience, gain clarity, and develop skills at a pace that feels comfortable.
