ABOUT Taiesha Joseph-Abrams

Taiesha creates a warm, nonjudgmental space at Washington Psychological Wellness for women of all ages to feel heard, understood, and supported. She respects each client’s experiences and works collaboratively to develop goals that help them feel more grounded and empowered.

Taiesha recognizes that seeking support can come during times of uncertainty, change, or emotional strain. She helps clients reconnect with their strengths, explore what matters to them, and take manageable steps toward greater confidence and well-being.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Taiesha’s experience spans community mental health, supportive housing, hospital crisis services, and psychiatric and forensic settings. Her work has included individual, family, and group therapy, crisis intervention, safety planning, psychological assessment, and collaboration with multidisciplinary treatment teams.

She has also served in clinical leadership roles, providing staff training, supervision, and support for program development. Her experience with trauma-informed care and harm reduction informs her compassionate approach to clients navigating complex emotional concerns and substance use challenges.

CLINICAL FOCUS

Taiesha supports clients navigating life transitions, anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), trauma, and substance use concerns. Her women-centered practice makes room for clients to explore how their experiences, relationships, and circumstances affect their emotional well-being.

Her approach is individualized and collaborative, combining opportunities for reflection with practical coping strategies. She helps clients strengthen self-understanding, recognize their choices, and work toward changes that align with their needs and goals.
