ABOUT Omar Misdaq

Born and raised in the UK, Omar brings a warm, calming presence to his work with adolescents, adults, couples, and families at Washington Psychological Wellness. He offers a welcoming space where clients can slow down, feel heard, and explore what lies beneath their immediate concerns.

Omar respects each client’s background, identity, and life experiences, with a particular interest in helping men deepen emotional awareness and self-expression. Outside of work, he enjoys Tai Chi, playing bass guitar, reading, traveling, and spending time in nature.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Omar’s background spans creativity coaching, adult education, and user experience design. As a coach, he supported people navigating creative blocks, anxiety, self-doubt, and motivational challenges. His design work strengthened his ability to listen closely and understand individual needs.

He has also taught adult learners from more than 60 countries, adapting his approach to diverse cultural and learning needs. His experience teaching embodied mindfulness informs his appreciation for the connection between emotional experiences, physical awareness, and well-being.

CLINICAL FOCUS

Omar supports clients navigating anxiety, trauma, stress, identity exploration, feelings of disconnection, relationship challenges, and life transitions. His approach is psychodynamic and depth-oriented, helping clients explore patterns and experiences that shape their present lives.
