ABOUT Dr. Leda Kaveh

Dr. Leda Kaveh brings warmth, curiosity, and authenticity to therapy with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. She believes therapy should make room for honest conversation, tears, laughter, and the freedom to be yourself.

Licensed in Maryland and Virginia, Dr. Kaveh is a clinical psychologist and Montgomery County native. She is the founder and director of Washington Psychological Wellness, an award-winning mental health practice, and founder of Washington Insight Solutions. Across both practices, she is committed to personalized care that respects each person’s background, strengths, and goals.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Dr. Kaveh began her career supporting survivors of sexual assault through hospital-based advocacy and crisis counseling with RAINN. These experiences shaped her commitment to compassionate care that respects each person’s pace.

Her doctoral training included neuropsychological assessment and concussion research at Children’s National Medical Center, as well as therapy in DC public schools and American University’s Counseling Center. Her residency and postdoctoral fellowship further developed her experience in psychotherapy and psychological assessment. She also mentors and supervises clinicians as a practice director.

Dr. Kaveh supports anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and life transitions. Her integrative approach draws on cognitive behavioral and psychodynamic perspectives while considering culture, relationships, personal history, and everyday circumstances.

She balances reflection with practical strategies to help clients understand patterns, manage distress, and strengthen connection. In psychological assessment, she looks beyond scores to clarify strengths and needs and offer useful recommendations for clients and families.
