Camara Watkins, LCSW-C

Licensed Certified Social Worker–Clinical

“You are the expert of your experience. I would love to work with you and help you meet your goals.”

ABOUT Camara Watkins

Camara is a licensed clinical social worker who supports individuals ages 16 and older, couples, and families. She offers a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients can feel heard, explore their experiences, and work toward goals that matter to them.

She believes clients bring valuable knowledge about their own lives. Through a collaborative therapeutic relationship, Camara helps them recognize their strengths, make informed choices, and celebrate progress on their own terms.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Camara began her social work career in 2001, drawn to its emphasis on empowerment and respect for each person’s experience. Her background includes crisis intervention, forensic social work, case management, school and family engagement, program development, teaching, and clinical supervision.

Her work across clinical, educational, and community settings gives her an understanding of how relationships, culture, and access to resources affect well-being. She brings this perspective to helping clients navigate both personal concerns and the circumstances surrounding them.

CLINICAL FOCUS

Camara supports clients experiencing life transitions, depression, anxiety, grief, situational stress, and concerns related to culture and identity. She has a particular interest in supporting Black clients and people with marginalized identities, making space for the ways these experiences shape daily life and relationships.

Her collaborative approach draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), strengths-based practices, and Internal Family Systems (IFS). Through emotional exploration, validation, reflection, and practical strategies, she helps clients better understand themselves and move toward meaningful change.
