Ari Djavan, clinician at Washington Psychological Wellness

Ari Djavan, LCSW-C

Licensed Certified Social Worker–Clinical

“I want you to feel understood as we make space for both the difficult parts of life and the possibility of change.”

ABOUT Ari Djavan

Ari supports adults and young adults with warmth, cultural sensitivity, and room for moments of humor. She welcomes honest conversation and offers a supportive space to explore difficult experiences, feel understood, and work toward meaningful change.

She considers each person’s culture, values, and relationships while developing a shared direction for therapy. Fluent in English and Persian, Ari values the different perspectives clients bring and helps them recognize strengths they may have lost sight of.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Ari’s background includes outpatient mental health care, crisis intervention, and support for children and families in school and community settings. She has worked with adults, clients receiving court-mandated treatment, and people navigating substance use and co-occurring mental health concerns.

Before entering social work, she worked in communications, education, and the arts, including roles in New York City and Paris. These experiences strengthened her listening and communication skills and inform her appreciation for culture, creativity, and each person’s individual story.

CLINICAL FOCUS

Ari supports anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, self-esteem concerns, life transitions, and complex family dynamics. She integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, and somatic practices according to each client’s needs.

Her approach balances reflection with practical skills. Clients can explore past experiences and emotional patterns while developing new ways to manage distress, communicate their needs, and build more trusting relationships with themselves and others.
