Clinical Psychology Doctoral Intern

Adesewa Ajiboye is a second-year Psy.D. student at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, currently receiving advanced training in psychotherapy and psychological assessment. Originally from Nigeria, she earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology and Psychiatric Rehabilitation from Kean University and Rutgers University. Her multicultural background informs her passion for working with children, adolescents, young adults, families, immigrant populations, underserved communities and individuals navigating complex life transitions.

Adesewa’s clinical experiences span both therapy and assessment across the lifespan. She completed her undergraduate internship at Volunteers of America, where she facilitated group therapy for individuals living with depression, anxiety, and substance use, and supported those with cognitive decline through individualized planning and connection to community resources. She later trained at Calabrese Psychological Services and Mirror Mental Health, where she conducted assessments for a wide range of psychological concerns including PTSD, autism spectrum disorder, developmental and intellectual disabilities, addiction, and mood disorders. These experiences have shaped her passion for using assessment to inform individualized, culturally responsive treatment planning.

In her therapeutic work, Adesewa takes an integrative approach grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic theory, and family systems. She is especially interested in supporting clients working through depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, eating disorders, domestic violence, substance use, panic disorder, autism spectrum disorder, and issues related to men’s and women’s mental health. She is drawn to helping individuals explore identity, build emotional insight, and navigate challenges across relationships, culture, and development.

Adesewa is passionate about bridging assessment with therapy to better understand her clients and offer holistic, evidence-based care. She brings warmth, curiosity, and collaboration into the therapy room, tailoring interventions to meet clients where they are. Her long-term goals include working in hospital, forensic, and private practice settings while continuing to serve underserved communities.
