Yuri Forgues

Graduate Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern

Yuri is a Graduate Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern at Washington Psychological Wellness. Inspired by his own healing journey and a deep commitment to empowering others, he approaches therapy with curiosity, compassion, and understanding. Yuri is dedicated to creating a safe, welcoming space where clients feel truly seen and heard—especially those who feel disconnected or carry hidden wounds.

He is currently pursuing his Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Southern New Hampshire University, with an expected graduation in April 2026.

Yuri’s therapeutic approach is rooted in person-centered therapy, guided by the belief that clients are the experts of their own lives and experiences. With warmth and openness, he meets each individual where they are, honoring their unique story, culture, and identity. He integrates trauma-informed care, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and family systems therapy to support clients in recognizing patterns, processing past experiences, and fostering lasting, meaningful change.

He has a special interest in working with young adults, couples, and families navigating life’s challenges. Yuri is especially drawn to supporting individuals experiencing grief and loss, relationship issues, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), identity exploration, anxiety, and depression. He is passionate about helping people find connection, clarity, and hope—even during the most challenging times.

Whether someone is seeking personal growth or simply a space to be heard, Yuri offers a therapeutic relationship grounded in empathy and trust. His goal is to walk alongside clients as they move toward deeper self-understanding, peace, and wholeness.

Outside of his clinical work, Yuri enjoys reading, rollerblading, playing music, taking walks outdoors, and spending quality time with his family and beloved cats. He feels honored to support individuals on their journey toward healing, joy, and a more fulfilling life through compassionate and client-centered therapy.
