Oliver Brady

Graduate Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern

Oliver Brady (he/him) is passionate about helping individuals find clarity, resilience, and meaning in their lives. He is currently completing his practicum in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Hood College. Oliver is committed to creating a welcoming space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered as they navigate concerns related to anxiety, depression, and OCD. His approach is person-centered and evidence-based, thoughtfully adapted to each client’s unique background and needs.

Through his clinical and research experience with organizations like Luminis Health, Oliver has developed valuable skills in crisis response, suicide risk assessment, and patient-centered support. His approachable style has made him effective in facilitating peer support groups, especially during challenging times such as the COVID-19 pandemic, where he fostered a strong sense of openness and connection among participants. These experiences have shaped his broader counseling philosophy, which integrates professional insight with deep empathy.

Oliver’s background in community outreach and cultural research into mental health practices has reinforced his dedication to inclusivity and emotional attunement. With a foundation in plant sciences and a deep connection to the natural world, he often finds grounding and inspiration in gardening and time spent outdoors; experiences that subtly inform his therapeutic perspective. His work is further shaped by an existential orientation and a mindfulness-based lens, offering space for clients to explore not only their challenges, but also the deeper questions of meaning, identity, and purpose.

He welcomes individuals who are ready to begin or continue their journey toward meaningful change, personal growth, and lasting well-being.
