Madeleine serves as a Graduate Clinical Social Work Intern at Washington Psychological Wellness. She is currently pursuing her Master of Social Work from Louisiana State University. Madeleine is passionate about supporting and empowering individuals from diverse backgrounds, bringing empathy, cultural humility, and understanding into her practice.
Prior to advancing her education at Louisiana State University, Madeleine received her Bachelor’s in Special Education from Towson University and has worked for several years in residential settings, supporting adolescents and young adults with developmental disabilities and mental health disorders. Madeleine’s skill set lends itself in particular to working with children and adolescents, individuals with disabilities, and those who identify as LGBTQ+.
Madeleine believes in drawing from a variety of therapeutic approaches and understands the necessity of meeting clients where they are at, fostering a therapeutic environment built on compassion and empathy. She understands the bravery it takes to seek help and strives to create a safe, non-judgemental environment that allows for skill development in the areas of goal achievement, social-emotional learning, boundary setting and positive self-esteem.
