Taiesha Joseph-Abrams is a compassionate and dedicated doctoral-level intern at Washington Psychological Wellness. She is committed to supporting clients on their mental health journey with empathy and expertise.

Taiesha earned her Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice CUNY and her Master’s degree in Forensic Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.

With a wealth of experience in various clinical settings, Taiesha has served as a Mental Health Clinician and Assistant Clinical Director at Praxis Housing Initiatives in Bronx, NY. She has also worked as a Crisis Team Member and Behavioral Health Associate at Lincoln Hospital and Mental Health Center in the Bronx, in addition to her experience in private practice.

Taiesha’s approach to therapy is grounded in the belief that a strong therapeutic alliance is essential for clients to achieve their goals. She utilizes multiple therapeutic modalities tailored to meet each client’s unique needs, ensuring they feel welcomed, understood, heard, and respected.

Her areas of expertise include working with clients facing life challenges, depression and mood disorders, brief psychotic disorders, anxiety, OCD, and traumatic stress disorders. Taiesha also holds the Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) certification, which further enriches her ability to provide comprehensive care.

Taiesha is passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of her clients and is dedicated to fostering a supportive and healing environment for everyone she works with.
