Nat Thomson
Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)
Nat Thomson, LMSW, is a Licensed Master Social Worker who brings warmth, curiosity, and compassion to his work as a therapist. Before becoming a social worker, he spent 15 years in research, communications, and planning in New York City; an experience that gave him a deep appreciation for people’s diverse stories and challenges.
Nat earned his Master of Social Work from Simmons University in Boston, where his studies explored the influence of mainstream media, the experiences of Black women in white-dominant work environments, women’s involvement in social movements, and the richness of cultural diversity in today’s society. During his time there, he also served as a graduate assistant in the Public Health program.
Clients often describe Nat’s therapy style as thoughtful, collaborative, and grounding. He blends approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic work, solution-focused techniques, and narrative therapy to adapt to each person’s needs. He has worked with people of all races, cultures, genders, and ages, and is committed to creating a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard and understood.
Nat believes that therapy is a place for growth, healing, and gaining new perspective. His goal is to help clients build resilience, discover meaningful insights, and find a clearer path forward in their lives. He looks forward to walking alongside you in your journey here at Washington Psychological Wellness.
