Meghan Maloney

Graduate Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern

“I want therapy to feel like a place where you are heard, supported, and free to grow at your own pace.”

ABOUT Meghan Maloney

Meghan meets clients at Washington Psychological Wellness with warmth, respect, and curiosity, with a particular interest in working with children and adolescents. She creates a supportive space where clients can feel understood, build trust, and explore their experiences at their own pace.

Meghan values each client’s strengths and works collaboratively toward goals that feel meaningful and manageable. Outside of work, she enjoys coaching swim team, painting, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Meghan’s background includes educational aide and behavioral support roles, supporting children with academic, developmental, and social needs. She has provided individualized support, helped implement behavioral and learning goals, and collaborated with caregivers and therapists to encourage consistency across settings.

As a youth swim coach, Meghan has helped children and adolescents build confidence, develop skills, and connect with peers. These experiences inform her patient, encouraging style and her understanding of how family, school, and community relationships support well-being.

CLINICAL FOCUS

Meghan supports clients navigating anxiety, stress, behavioral challenges, self-esteem concerns, relationship difficulties, and life transitions. She is especially interested in helping young people understand their emotions, build coping skills, and feel confident expressing their needs.

Her approach is client-centered and strengths-based, tailored to each person’s goals and stage of development. When appropriate, she collaborates with caregivers to support communication and help clients carry new skills into everyday life.
